Sport North East recently delivered Strategic Planning workshops to the Ovens & Murray District Swimming Association and Ovens & Murray Bowls Region, to explore the key steps involved in developing an effective strategic plan, including defining purpose, engaging stakeholders, setting clear goals, and developing action plans.

Additional club development topics for the Swimming association, included Grant Writing, Committee 101, and the Member Protection Information Officer role, providing participants with practical tools and resources to support effective club management.

Across the two workshops, there were 18 participants representing clubs from throughout the Ovens & Murray region. Feedback from attendees highlighted the value of the sessions, with 100% of participants indicating they were very likely to implement one or more learnings from the workshops within their clubs.

One participant shared: “Great starter information and direction. Excellent to have so many links and resources. I appreciated having other clubs and the district present to hear that we are not alone.”
