Finska with Sport North East

Sport North East Regional Sports Assembly and the newly established Myrtleford U3A teamed up to bring the addictive Scandinavian log throwing game, Finska, to older adults in the Myrtleford community. Finska is a low-impact, therapeutic exercise that can improve fitness, coordination and confidence. There are 12 numbered wooden pins and each player takes turns to toss the throwing log (approx. 25 cm long) underarm style from behind a throwing line. The first player or team to 50 points wins. You can slow your opponents down by knocking out the numbered pins they need to win.

At Myrtleford U3A, Sport North East ran a supported program of 4 weeks of 60 minutes duration with a cuppa afterwards (20 minutes). It was great fun and was attended by 8-10 people each week.
