The Lead Your Way local network supports current and emerging leaders across community football and netball by building leadership capability, creating connections and celebrating the contribution women make across our region.
Our Respect in Sport session got the participants discussing the Action Domains within club environments and minor to major adaptions which can have the most impact by reducing barriers and increasing enablers.
It was also a privilege to listen to Katrina Stopinski who came through the ranks as a trailblazing female umpire and is now committed to identifying and supporting emerging female leaders. Katrina shared some eye-opening learnings on the power of yourself and relationships and how to prioritise make difficult conversations easier.
After a delicious dinner, we were treated to our current leaders’ reflection on their experience and their hope for the future of Women and Girls in the league including equal pay for coaches.
Thank you to AFL North East Border for partnering with us on this important initiative and for all the participants who travelled near and far to join us.
We are looking forward to finding more opportunities to connect females in sport to ensure an inclusive environment for all.
