Social Sport Program with Migrant Youth in Wodonga

Social Sport Program with Migrant Youth in Wodonga

We were grateful for the opportunity to run an Ultimate Frisbee program at Wodonga Campus Blackburn English School during Term 2. A big thank you to teachers Darcy and Jordan for their participation and guidance during the sessions.

For these kids from refugee families from African and Asian nations, the program offers a supportive space to build confidence, practice communication and strengthen social connections. Seeing students encourage one another, try new skills and enjoy being active highlighted how small, inclusive sport experiences can help young people feel more settled and connected in their school community.

Our team left feeling uplifted by the students’ energy and the school’s hospitality. We’re looking forward to setting up another session and continuing this meaningful partnership.
