Residents of all ages and abilities enjoyed a fun and inclusive Walking Football 4 Health Victoria Come and Try Session at the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre on Friday, 12 June 2026.
The free session introduced participants to Walking Football, a non-contact version of soccer played at a walking pace, with modified rules designed to make the game safe and accessible for everyone.
Participants took part in a range of activities and friendly games, while enjoying the social and health benefits of staying active in a supportive environment. The session highlighted the growing appeal of Walking Football as a great way to improve fitness, make new connections and enjoy sport, regardless of age, ability or previous experience.
Sport North East would like to thank Walking Football 4 Health Victoria and Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre for their support in delivering the session, and all participants who came along and gave it a go.
We were pleased to hear the enthusiasm for future Walking Football opportunities in the region.
